Proper Etiquette’s first car project. We chose the 1971 Monte Carlo b/c of its beautiful body lines and smooth ride. We felt it was a perfect “California Cruizer”. We bought this car in Carlsbad, California from its original owner. It was a super solid car to begin with.
Before ……….and After….keep in mind a lot of money and love went into making this car come alive. We wanted to keep the car mostly original, the only tweaks we did was paint the exterior a custom mixed silver with a hint of pearl which we called “Proper Silver”, and we smoothed out the trim to give the monte a sleeker look. We rebuilt the engine to factory specs and added a mild cam and high-flow headers and exhaust. For the inside we added a modern sound system with iphone connect, and custom sewn P.E interior throughout. The seats were a two tone black ultraleather and black cloth. The headliner was also done in ultraleather.
It took me one month to do the who interior of the car. It was my first interior project, but it came out butter smooth. This definately taught me patience was crucial.
